About The Event
We are so grateful to all of our donors and supporters. It is Because of you that we can hold this virtual fundraiser. It is Because of You that the Cystic Fibrosis community knows they can rely on us during difficult times. And it is Because of You that we can continue to assist them, especially during this unprecedented time. On Behalf of The Living Breath Foundation, we would like to welcome you to the 2020 "Because of You" Virtual Fundraiser. For the past 12 years, our foundation has held a spectacular dinner and auction at Tehama Golf Club to raise money for our numerous aid programs that benefit individuals and their families living with Cystic Fibrosis. Because of the COVID-19 virus, we have decided it would be irresponsible to hold the event this year. The virus would have a serious and possibly fatal impact on members of the Cystic Fibrosis community who regularly attend our events. For that reason, we have chosen to hold a virtual event this year. Our foundation has canceled three of our annual fundraisers so far this year, and we understand that many of you have been negatively affected during this unprecedented time. Even so, several of you contacted us, reaching out with items and encouraging us to make this year's virtual fundraiser a reality. We have greatly appreciated everyone's support in the past and would continue to appreciate your support this year. If contributing is not a reality for you at this time, we are looking forward to your continued support in the future and wish you the best in the rest of 2020 and 2021. We hope that everyone will join us for a virtual presentation via YouTube On Saturday, October 17th, at 7 pm. The event link will be posted at a later date on our website and mailed or emailed out to everyone. The Living Breath Foundation has always had beautiful items to bid on, and this year is no exception! There will once again be wine baskets filled with fantastic local wines as well as many gift certificates to your favorite local restaurants, holiday family dinners from Carmel's famous Bruno's market, and a large (up to 25) dinner and wine event brought to your home by Bruno's. Our auction has terrific gift items for the upcoming holiday season, including a December Adult Advent Calender with 25 local wines, one for each night! We also have several craft type items that make perfect seasonal gifts. There are outstanding trips that can be made by car to keep you safe during COVID. You will also find plenty of outdoor activities to bid on, including surfing, skiing, and golf. This year's auction will be quite different from previous years; our auction this year will be available for bidding for one week online. Bidding will open online at 8 am on Saturday, October 10th, and will close on Saturday, October 17th at 8 pm. You will be able to bid as often as you like during that time.If you live on the Monterey Peninsula, the Living Breath Foundation will deliver your items personally by November 1st, 2020. If you do not live locally, arrangements must be made to pick up your items.
